I did it!

Today's event has come and gone with success - I finished my first triathlon! I was happy with how I felt in all the events. I was worried about sustaining enough energy for the run at the end, but didn't have a problem. Looking back and looking at my time for the bike, I probably could've gone faster, but I had no idea. I stayed hydrated and stayed steady throughout all the events. It was definitely a great experience and amazing, in that 4200 hundred female athletes participated.

Chris was a great cheerleader. His aunt, uncle, cousin and cousin's girlfriend came out to give some cheers. Thank you to all of them for the support. There were also 8(?) other Tribabes out there, with pregnant Jen on the sidelines cheering for everyone. Jen lent me her jersey and shorts for the day and passed along some luck with it. Thanks to everyone for the good vibes and warm wishes. We were all given a mantra at the start of our wave. I was in wave 22, red caps. We were "radically fun". I preferred the mantra from the first timers meeting - fabulous!

I would definitely recommend this Danskin event to anyone that would like to even remotely entertain the thought of a triathlon. It was great for all levels, but had excellent support for first timers!

I am a fabulous swimmer. I am a fabulous cyclist. I am a fabulous runner. I am a fabulous athlete. I AM A FABULOUS TRIATHLETE.

Congratulations Dria! What a great accomplishment. I would be so intimidated to try a triathalon. Kudos to you!

yeah for you, ellen. were you at danskin?? or did you do a different tri? i checked the results, but couldn't find you! i didn't feel the hurt yesterday - a bit tired from being up since 4am, but i felt it walking down the stairs this morning. it was worth it, though.
