Peanut Butter

I love peanut butter. Period.

I could eat it on pretty much anything...carrots, bread, pretzels, bananas, apples, chocolate. I usually buy natural peanut butter, the kind you have to mix with the layer of oil on top. I hate mixing it because I make a mess of it, so this week at the grocery store, I saw that Skippy had a new product, natural creamy peanut butter. Nutritionally, it was the same as the brand that I usually buy. So, I thought I'd give it a try. Well, it was pretty disappointing. I had a jar of Skippy already open at home and pretty much did a taste test between the two. No difference. Oh well. I'll stick to the regular jar that needs to be mixed, much more natural than what Skippy tried to do.

I don't understand. What was bad about the Natural Skippy?

i don't like how regular skippy tastes. it's texture is too uniform, almost plastic-y. natural peanut butter actually has nutty chunks in it, not so much that it would fall in the "crunchy" category, more more "real" seeming than skippy, peter pan, jif, etc.

Hmmm... I've never had natural peanut butter! Maybe I should try it... although the oil mixing doesn't sound appealing.

i think this would be a great product for me and gina because we (i speak for you, gina) like regular skippy or jif or whatever - the processed stuff you dont like - but if this tastes just like the processed kind, and has the same nutritional value as the "stir in the oil" stuff, then why not get this? right?

What do you mean we like regular... like, not chunky?

Actually, I felt like having peanut butter toast yesterday and I took out the peanut butter (Todd eats it much more than I do, so he picks out the kind). It was Skippy Superchunk. It was so hard to spread... I much rather creamy.

no, thats not what I mean. I mean we like regular peanut butter rather than natural peanut butter. So, if this Skippy natural stuff tastes the same as regular old Skippy, why not get try that one? its better for you and tastes the same! right?
