Five on Friday

This Sunday is my first triathlon. I can't believe it's finally here. I signed up for it kind of on a whim... I felt like I just needed to get on the horse, or bike in this case, and go for it. So, that's the plan for this weekend.

My Five on Friday this week is devoted to facts about triathlons.

1. Triathlon made its Olympic debut in Sydney in 2000.

2. "Racking your bike" entails hooking the seat of your bike on a metal rack where it sits waiting for your return from the swim and sits while you run.

3. Your body is marked with your number and age, usually your upper arm and calf, respectively.

4. Triathlon was invented in the early 1970s by the San Diego Track Club.

5. A brick is doing 2 different exercises right after one another, i.e. bike workout immediately followed by a run.
