Fiver on Friday

I was typing the title of this post and slipped on the keys and now it says "Fiver" which prompted my 5 for today.

Five Sayings/Words Commonly Used Wisconsin

1. "jobbies"
My grandma often uses this phrase when referring to smallish things, such as pickles.

2. "yea" as in "yea high"
My dad uses this phrase as an estimate of size.

3. "der" (pronouned 'dare')
Often preceded by 'over' and followed by 'hey'

4. "bubbler"
Otherwise known as a drinking fountain

5. "yah"
Used in place of the word 'yes'.

I love Wisconsin. Please feel free to add your own.

I never heard of "jobbies"!
In Green Bay a lot of people say "yous" or "yous guys." I HATE that! Maybe that's more of a northern thing... although if you talk to people from Green Bay, we are NOT up north!
