It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

I can't believe how nice it was today. I went out to pick up a pizza around 7pm and it was 57 degrees. I can't imagine how much warmer it was during the daylight hours.

Chris had the Blarney Run on his workout schedule, so we headed out this morning for our first 5k race of the season! I've been able to run consistently on the treadmill for my workouts and have also consistently been able to increase my speed, so I was anxious to see how my first serious outdoor run was going to go. I was shooting for 10 minute miles since that's what I've been close to on the treadmill. I finished in 30:30. I was satisfied with that finish, slightly faster than 10min/mile. The course was pretty wicked, though. If you're familiar with Tosa, it started at Wil-o-way on Underwood Pkwy by Hansen Golf Course. It went east down the hill, turned right on Swan Blvd, along the county gardens. Up the hill to the Hwy 45 overpass, down to the exit ramp from 45, and back the way we came. Until we turned back onto the parkway, we ran into the wind. I was not loving it. Needless to say, I finished and was NOT passed by the guys with the huge afro wigs with Guiness hanging out in front of their faces encouraging them to run!

The day was beautiful and I wished I had opted for short sleeves instead of what I had on. I hope this weather trend continues. It makes life so much more pleasant when it's sunny and warm!

The warm weather was so nice. I am SO ready for spring. When is your spring break?

We always have spring break the week after Easter, so I still have a few weeks to wait!

Ours is next week. I cannot wait! (You'll probably have better weather having it later though.)
