Eco News for You

In my energy class this spring, some asked about the phasing out of incandescent light bulbs (aka regular light bulbs). I wasn't too sure about that. Turns out, it is not a fallacy. Check this out...

According to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, all bulbs must be 25-30% more energy efficient than they are now by 2012-2014. By 2020, they must be 70% more efficient. This does not necessarily mean they are getting rid of incandescent bulbs, rather big companies are working to make them more efficient, while keeping the style. Keep your eyes peeled. New bulbs may be on the horizon.

Another piece of news... very elementary, but educational. Thank you, United Nations Environmental Programme.
