Puerto Rico

Last summer, I went to Puerto Rico for a teacher exchange program through UWSP. It was a great time. Ten teachers from Wisconsin spent 14 days traveling through Puerto Rico, north to south, east to west, with ten teachers from Puerto Rico. There were some issues of language barriers, but we managed. This summer, the Puerto Rican teachers are coming up to Wisconsin for 10 days of living in the Midwest. I got a sneak peek at the itinierary and connected with my three buddies, Erica, Victoria, and Ned, from the trip and it looks like it's a go for all of us. I'm excited. It looks like we'll be traveling through Milwaukee, Stevens Point, Lac du Flambeau, Minocqua, and Madison. It should be a well-rounded trip through Wisconsin, seeing a variety of sites.

UWSP also offers other trips around the world. If you're a teacher, you can apply through the Global Environmental Teachings program. If you're a non-teacher, they offer hiking and biking trips, which I have participated in also, through the Health Promotion and Human Development Department. It's worth it and the people you meet are great too!

I dug up some pics from last year's trip. Take a look.
